The 2009 CAWS Most Weedwise Nursey Award was earned by Wayne Bennett and his daughter Julia, of Forest Flora in Ngaruawahia.

The 2009 New Zealand Plant Protection Medal, awarded for exceptional services to plant protection in New Zealand, was awarded to Ken Jeffery.
